Nursery (0-4 years old): The youngest members of our parish family have a safe and fun place to be embraced while their parents and older siblings participate in worship. Our professional nursery staff and volunteers are experienced and have undergone background checks. The nursery is available during the late service (see service times here) and during special services.
Children's Chapel (4-10 years old): Children transition from play time in the nursery to participating in the service with their family. Children go to Children's chapel prior to the sermon where they have the opportunity to engage in age appropriate learning with Bible stories that relate to the Episcopal church calendar, liturgy and their personal lives. Each week they learn a story that they heard in the worship service and participate in a creative avenue (such as a craft or game) to further help them understand the lesson. The teachers in the Children's chapel are all parish members who volunteer their time and who have completed an intensive training course entitled "Safeguarding God's Children". We hope this will grow the relationship they have with Christ and the church.
J-Walkers (5th Grade through High School) This class meets in between the early service and the late service (see service times here) in the J-Walkers classroom. On most Sundays the theme of the class blends with the gospel and sermon they will hear later during the late service. At certain times of the year there will be lessons appropriate to the season: Advent, Lent, etc. Currently, the class is learning about each of the stained-glass windows throughout our church worship areas. The teachers in the J-Walkers class are parish members who are volunteers and who have completed an intensive training course entitled "Safeguarding God's Children". The youth who were in this pre-teen/teenage class in 2018 chose the name of the class, "J-Walkers", because as they grow up and out of primary school, they become more fully aware of wanting to learn more about Walking With Jesus and how doing that can impact them and the people around them in the course of their daily lives.
