We regret that the Race could not be held in 2021.
As you know we use the funds raised by the race to help the Polk Country Fee A Kid program. Because we don’t want that program to have a gap in their funding we will be using funds from our designated Outreach Program to cover what the race normally contributes.
Thank you for understanding and look for us again in 2022!
The course is moderately challenging (this is the mountains!) with varying scenery and some nice twists and turns. Once you finish you are rewarded with one of the best hot breakfasts you’ll ever have after a race. Holy Cross supplies many of the breakfast casseroles to the Tryon Half Marathon and if you’ve ever run the Tryon Half you’ll know what’s in store. We like to call it “Same great breakfast for half the distance!”. We also offer our nursery with staffed child care!
Funds raised from the race all go to the 'Feed A Family'. This program began as an extension to the Feed a Kid Back – Pack program offered by the local food bank (Thermal Belt Outreach) which provides components for a weekly meal for needy families distributed through the schools to families during the school year. The Feed a Family program provides a meal each week to those same families throughout the summer months. It is coordinated by the Congregational Church and the race will help our Youth raise funds for the program and they will also participate in packing food over the summer months.
With your generous support we can make a difference in even more lives in our community. Please join us as we Race To The Head Of The Class!
Registration is $25 for either race.
If you wish to donate more to the Feed A Kid Program you can do so when you enter the amount at checkout. Just make the amount more than $25 to reflect what you'd like to donate. Thank you!
Registration is $25 for either race and you'll get some nifty race socks.
The Kids Fun Run is free but you are welcome to make a donation.
