The Celebration of New Ministry is a prayer service which will be officiated by Rt. Rev. José A. McLoughlin, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina. It includes the official welcoming of Rev. Ard as the new Rector and his commitment, in the presence of the congregation, to the new trust and responsibility of the ministry. The service is characterized by the presentation of symbolic gifts.
“It is a great honor to join my ministry with the Holy Cross community of worship.” said Rev. Ard. “This is a generous, caring and talented group of parishioners who engage in a variety of good works on a daily basis. The renowned music program, community outreach to food bank programs and services to the homeless, children’s programs, hospice, and sustainability efforts are all ministries which have a tangible and vital impact on our larger community.”
