PB047207“I believe in… the communion of saints, … the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.” (Book of Common Prayer, page 304

In the Anglican Church All Saint’s Day is when we recognize and celebrate our relationship with not only those here present but also those who have gone before us.

At Holy Cross we add to the tradition by paying particular homage those who have left us in the last year.PB047208

Each person’s name, year of birth and year of passing are placed on a banner. These banners are brought into the church during the procession and then hung along both sides of the Nave.

As much as possible the banners are carried in by a family member or friend of the loved one.

This cherished tradition is part of who we are at Holy Cross and serves to remind us that just because someone is no longer with us in body they are always with us in spirit
