It is community that calls me beyond the pinched horizons of my own life, my own country, my own race, and gives me the gifts I do not have within me.” – Joan Chittister

For many months that quote has been in The Messenger because it really speaks specifically about our life and work together in the community of Holy Cross.

We are all here for one reason and that reason in one word is relationship…our individual relationships with God and our relationships to each other.  Every person is welcome at Holy Cross.  Every person has something to teach us about who God is and how we can be better and more faithful.

Our vestry is also a strong, talented and faithful bunch.  We’ve had fun, worked hard, spent hours and hours in meetings, written and read hundreds of emails, struggled over issues and with each other and through it we have accomplished much.  Many thanks for your time and commitment to vestry and Holy Cross.  Everyone not serving on vestry should feel a little bit jealous about missing the chance to work so closely with such a great group of dedicated, loving, caring folks…you don’t know what you are missing and I am glad to be a part of it.

A lot of work and effort happens at Holy Cross.  We make mistakes.  Sometimes we struggle to get along with each other.  We love and care about each other.  We mess up.  We forgive.  We grow.  We learn.  We see God in each other.
